Moving to Atlanta, GA? Here Are the Safest Options for Your New Neighborhood

Protecting the Local Community: BOS Security Opens a New Location!

If you’re considering a move to the Atlanta area, you might be surprised by how sprawling and varied it is. Every neighborhood has its features, qualities, and vibe, but the regions vary in safety. Here’s what you need to know about some of the safest neighborhoods in Atlanta.

Buckhead

This neighborhood is part of the city of Atlanta and is one of the most prestigious and expensive. Housing ranges from stately mansions to high-rise condominiums. There are plenty of shopping, restaurant, and nightlife options, as well as access to public transportation. Events at Chastain Park, the city’s largest public park, tend to draw a crowd from other parts of the city and the surrounding suburbs. Buckhead has an intimate, small-town feel even though it’s part of the city.

Brookhaven

With universities and parks nearby, Brookhaven is both family and student-friendly. There is a mix of old and new housing, but prices can be high. Finding affordable housing will take some effort. Shopping is centered around Town Brookhaven and Northeast Plaza. Other recreational activities for both children and adults are available at Briarwood and Murphy Candler Park, including walking paths, swimming pools, athletic fields, etc.

Vinings

Vinings has done it’s best to maintain its vintage feel. The Vinings Historic Preservation Society has been instrumental in preserving historic buildings and hosting events to fund preservation efforts. Family-friendly Vinings boasts everything from ice cream socials to outdoor recreation. More sophisticated residents can enjoy the Atlanta Ballet and Opera. A more recent addition is the Rails to Trails project in nearby Smyrna, which is a 61-mile paved trail for bicyclists, walkers, joggers, inline skaters, and horseback riders.

North Druid Hills

North Druid Hills is a growing and progressive community with plenty to do for the young professionals flocking there. You’ll find coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and parks. The quality of local public schools attracts young families as well. This neighborhood is a bit more affordable, with a mix of both houses and apartments available.
