LaSonja Hunt has a passion for serving people. Whether that be her family or clients, she has dedicated her life to taking care of others, doing it all with a comforting smile on her face. LaSonja has been a security officer with BOS Security for a year now, bringing her servant’s heart along with her to her post.
When she is not at her post at the Springhill Suites in downtown Athens, Georgia, Officer Hunt can be found running her own cleaning business, attending church and participating in a ministry, and taking care of her two children, along with the children in the neighborhood who loving call her “Ms. Lee.” Her religion is very important to Officer LaSonja Hunt, or Ms. Lee. She sees her work as a way to be a vessel for God. When speaking with her, she said, “What I like about this job in particular is that I get to serve the people. And that’s what I am, I’m a servant. Every day I get up and my first prayer is for God to use me the way He sees fit, so that I might be used to help somebody else. And that just gives me joy. Period. Pure joy.”
Being a security officer is just another way for Officer Hunt to take care of others and serve her community. A great person and a great security officer, LaSonja Hunt has dedicated her life to providing without expectation for return. What I Do Matters Because…
“There’s a real eerie feeling in America, the world in general today, as far as people in security go. They don’t feel protected, they don’t feel as if they can trust us and what I do matters because I get a chance to show them that we are here to serve and to protect. We’re people just like they are.”
The Most Rewarding Part of My Job Is…
“To have a guest be thankful that I was there. Not just the client or the guest but the people that we work for, the people that hire us to take care of their clients and their property. That’s the most rewarding, to know that we’re doing our job and making a difference.”
What Are You Most Proud of at Work?
“I honestly am most proud to be proud of the BOS Security team. This is like a family and one of the best jobs I’ve ever had.”
Officer LaSonja Hunt utilizes her servant’s heart to serve and protect the clients, employees, guests, and patrons of her assigned post.
