Blue Eye was first established in 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2020, they opened their primary monitoring operations in Las Vegas, Nevada, and in 2023 they opened their first international office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. 

VirtuGuard™ is a 100% U.S.-based remote monitoring service from BOS Security, Inc. Headquartered in Athens, Georgia, VirtuGuard™ combines over thirty years of physical guarding experience with the expertise of remote monitoring experts. Extensive experience with security concerns across various industries sets VirtuGuard™ apart from their competitors.   

VirtuGuard™ partners with technology integrators across the United States to connect client security technology into our Command Centers. Working relationships with integrators and installers ensures that VirtuGuard™ has full camera coverage and cutting-edge security technology on client properties. Our Technology team regularly optimizes our security technology to provide the highest quality of services possible.  

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities are applied to surveillance cameras to detect and alert to motion or abnormal activity on client properties. VirtuGuard™ proactively detects disturbances with AI/ML, sending an alarm into our Command Centers for live Agents to review and respond to. Leveraging this revolutionary technology prevents abnormal or criminal behavior from slipping through the cracks, as they may not have been observed by human eyes alone. 

Command Center Locations 

Blue Eye reports that their primary monitoring operations are conducted in Las Vegas, Nevada but they also have an international office in Cambodia. However, Blue Eye does not indicate whether their monitoring is entirely U.S.-based or if they have monitoring centers located in other countries. 

Every VirtuGuard™ Agent is based in the United States. VirtuGuard™ monitoring Agents are native English speakers, easing communications with callers, Security Guards, Police Officers, and more. Misunderstandings that could cause delays or derail resolutions are greatly reduced with U.S.-based operators. In addition, your data never leaves the US and is protected and encrypted.  

Agents are familiarized with each client’s property and the communities they exist within. VirtuGuard™ establishes close relationships with local law enforcement agencies to respond quickly to incidents and reduce delays.   

Equipment & Hardware 

Blue Eye reports that they can work with whichever make and model of cameras a client has installed at their property. They do not specify whether they can work with other existing security infrastructure like remote access control systems or audio speakers. 

VirtuGuard™ is camera and equipment agnostic. Our Command Centers are compatible with hundreds of major camera manufacturers, and we take every possible step to work with a client’s existing equipment. We can also add on-site edge devices as needed to leverage several cloud-based services to enhance detections and enable faster Agent responses. Even after a client has been fully onboarded and monitoring has begun, our Technology team continues to introduce innovative technologies to improve efficiency and Agent responses. 

By working with a client’s existing cameras and other equipment, there is no additional up-front cost to the client to purchase new equipment before monitoring can begin. 

Security Guard & Law Enforcement Collaboration 

Blue Eye began as a service provider for remote video monitoring and physical guard services. However, in 2013, they ceased their physical guard services to focus on remote video monitoring entirely.  

Before introducing VirtuGuard™, BOS Security was founded in 1993 and has over thirty years of experience in providing physical guard services across Georgia. Additionally, in 2005 BOS expanded into the federal contracting market and other states, including providing airport passenger and baggage screening services under the TSA’s Screening Partnership Program. 

VirtuGuard™ works in conjunction with on-site security guards, whether they are hired by BOS Security or a competing security company. When relevant activity is detected at a client site, our Command Center Agents can dispatch the security guard to the exact location and prepare them for what to expect when they arrive. Similarly, if the incident requires law enforcement response, our virtual guards will stay on the phone with emergency dispatch, detailing the situation, including descriptions and locations of the perpetrators. When police arrive on the scene, our virtual guards are still on the phone, relaying the perpetrators hiding places so that police can most safely and quickly apprehend the criminals. 

All actions of our virtual security guards are conducted under supervision, and every move they make creates an audit trail for later review and training as well as evidence in court. 

Agent Training 

VirtuGuard™ Agents are trained firsthand by security technology experts when they first begin their new position. Agents and Command Center Managers work from physical Command Centers, giving new and existing Agents opportunities to learn directly from more experienced individuals and ask relevant questions as they occur.  

The VirtuGuard™ Agent training period is extensive and ongoing. The IT team is constantly making improvements to artificial intelligence, response procedures, reporting, and more to ensure clients are receiving the best service possible. These improvements are conveyed to Agents as they occur so that each Agent is up-to-date and prepared to complete their job responsibilities to the best of their ability.  

In addition to receiving training on how to utilize security technology and video management systems, VirtuGuard™ Agents also take courses on report writing and best communication practices. Communicating details to law enforcement and clients is crucial to crime prevention and protecting client properties. Agent training is always evolving as the video monitoring industry evolves. 

Contract Lengths & Warranties 

The Blue Eye website does not offer transparency on their required service contract lengths. There are also no mention of satisfaction guarantees for their remote video monitoring clients. However, most remote monitoring providers often require contracts for 1-5 years without a feasible way to exit the contract if they are not happy with the services provided.
