While live monitoring a car dealership overnight, the VirtuGuard™ Command Center received a motion-triggered alarm at 12:24 a.m. Agents viewed live video surveillance from the site, observing a black truck driving into the parking lot.  

The truck approached the service shop, where several tires had been left outside. An unknown male exited the vehicle and began to examine the tires. At this time, VirtuGuard™ conducted a Voice Announcement through speakers onsite, instructing the male to vacate the property and warning that failure to comply would result in police dispatch. 

The male ignored the Voice Announcement, taking two tires and loading them into the back of his truck. VirtuGuard™ immediately called local law enforcement to report the theft in-progress. 

At 12:36 a.m., police arrived and began to drive through the property. At 12:42, police called VirtuGuard™ to report that Officers located the unknown male and questioned him about the tires. The male claimed that he had permission to take the tires and Officers requested the dealership manager’s contact information to confirm this claim. The male did not actually have permission from management to take the tires. 

At 12:59 a.m., Agents observed the male returning the stolen tires to the spot they were stored previously. A police vehicle accompanied him, ensuring that the stolen items were returned promptly. Both the unknown male and the police completely vacated the property at 1:03 a.m.
