Arrest Made After Attempted Vehicle Break-Ins at Car Dealership

Arrest Made After Attempted Vehicle Break-Ins at Car Dealership

A used car dealership with a history of grand theft auto and catalytic converter theft implemented VirtuGuard™ remote guarding to prevent theft and loss.

One morning at approximately 3:09am, a motion detector on surveillance cameras sent an alarm into the VirtuGuard™ Command Center. An unknown individual entered the sales lot, triggering the alarm.

The unknown male began walking through the lot, attempting to break into several vehicles. The male was able to open the doors to several vehicles, rifling through them. Upon reviewing the live video stream, Monitoring Agents immediately contacted the local police to report the attempted break-ins and request that Officers respond to the scene.

Only seven minutes after receiving the alarm, police arrived at the car dealership at 3:16am. Officers made contact with the male and proceeded to arrest him. VirtuGuard™ notified the site manager of the event and continued to closely monitor the area.

Stop Auto Theft with Remote Guarding

With VirtuGuard™ remote guarding utilizes surveillance cameras and other security technology to stop trespassing and prevent theft. Car dealerships are perfect candidates for remote video monitoring, as they are popular targets for catalytic converter and auto theft, span over a large area, and remain unoccupied overnight.

With proactive security measures, VirtuGuard™ can detect suspicious activity as it occurs, empowering Agents to report and prevent incidents immediately. To learn more about how VirtuGuard™ can protect your business 24/7/365, complete the contact form below.
