Command Center Locations 

The Edgeworth Security Monitoring Center is based in the United States, as are their staff. They do not outsource monitoring from other countries. 

The VirtuGuard™ Command Center is located in Athens, Georgia. Onsite operations managers and security experts work directly with Monitoring Agents during their shifts, providing support and guidance for more complicated incidents. This hands-on approach to training and management empowers our Agents constantly improve response times and resolutions. 

Equipment and Hardware 

Edgeworth Security integrates with a limited number of the top Video Management Systems (VMS), primarily Avigilon. Additionally, Edgeworth utilizes Actuate AI to detect events and filter false alarms 

Meanwhile, VirtuGuard™ can work with almost any VMS. We use several vendors based on the client and their security equipment to provide the best level of service for any client. For incident detection and false alarm filtering, our Command Center uses a variety of Artificial Intelligence technologies to ensure the best results with each unique VMS. 

Advanced Analytic Expertise 

In additional to the VirtuGuard™ Command Center integrating with a wide variety of technology, our team has advanced analytic expertise. Rather than only applying traditional IT or physical security experience, our team focuses on advanced analytics to not miss any events while reducing false alarms. Our team focuses on making each NVR (network video recorder) efficient before applying AI, improving the reliability of both. BOS works with several leading AI platforms to include Scylla, Umbo, Calipsa who are industry leaders. 

For example, at a site with 102 cameras, VirtuGuard™ averages 15 alarms a day. Without our advanced analytics at the same site, there would be thousands of alarms sent to the Command Center each day. This reduction in false alarms makes responses more reasonable for Agents and garners better results. We accomplish without cutting true alarms. 

The median response time for the VirtuGuard™ Command Center is 10 seconds or less. This allows time for an event to trigger an alarm and send a short clip of the event into the Command Center for Agents to review in an instant. After reviewing the event, Agents can then react according to protocol. 

Agents may activate Voice Down announcements to deter activity and clear an area or alert onsite security personnel or local law enforcement if necessary. We also leverage strobe lights, flood lights and similar devices as needed. 

Law Enforcement Liaison 

BOS Security has over thirty years of experience in providing physical security services and our team consists of several retired law enforcement officers. This valuable experience enables ongoing relationships with local law enforcement agencies, which ensures effective responses to your property when VirtuGuard™ calls to report an incident. 

When establishing and maintaining these relationships, VirtuGuard™ explains that Agents only call when active criminal activity is detected on a client’s property, improving police response times. Our Agents can stay connected to dispatchers while criminal activity is transpiring, relaying real-time information on the movements of perpetrators, as well as potential threats to officers, giving police added safety as they respond. 

Our team’s experience with law enforcement influences our quality control. Retired law enforcement officers conduct daily reviews of calls from the night before. They use these recordings as training opportunities to improve our Agents’ responses to future calls. 

Agent Training 

Edgeworth Security and VirtuGuard™ have similar training protocols for their Agents.  

When a new VirtuGuard™ Agent is hired, they complete extensive initial training to become familiar with each VMS and protocols for various incident scenarios. Agents will also undergo required continuous training to constantly improve their response times and outcomes. 

Additionally, our team’s experience with physical guarding and law enforcement shapes the training of our Agents. We offer courses in report writing and train our Agents how to communicate effectively with onsite Security Officers and law enforcement. 

VirtuGuard™ creates a designated line for each client. Anytime a call comes into the Command Center from that location, Agents know exactly where it’s coming from, further decreasing response times. 

VirtuGuard™ Agents have fewer assigned sites, allowing them to conduct proactive virtual patrols in between triggered alarms. Agents have more time to designate each client and each incident that is detected, allowing them to respond quickly to prevent or resolve criminal activity. 

Contract Length 

Edgeworth Security requires that their clients are locked in a contract for a minimum of 3 years. After 3 years, clients can then renew their binding contract. However, if a client has concerns that their remote monitoring services are not meeting their security needs, there is little incentive for improvements to be made. If a client wants to end their contract early, due to dissatisfaction with the service, budget constraints, or other concerns, they may have no choice but to remain in the contract or face costly legal expenses.
