Attempted Car Break-In Halted by Remote Video Monitoring and Police

Attempted Car Break-In Halted by Remote Video Monitoring and Police

Late one December night at 11:30pm, the VirtuGuard™ Command Center received an AI-triggered alarm from a car dealership stock lot. A light gray SUV entered the lot, and the driver stopped the vehicle near a white SUV. The motion from the vehicle triggered the alarm, sending a recording of the event for the Agents to review.

Agents were viewing the live footage of the area when an unknown male exited the gray SUV. The individual approached the white SVU and entered the driver’s seat. The vehicle was seemingly unlocked, allowing the individual to enter the vehicle.

VirtuGuard™ Agents called the local police department at 11:34pm and requested that Officers respond to the property and make contact with the individual. Agents stayed on the line with dispatchers, providing details on the individual and the area of the property they were located in.

Police arrived onsite at 11:38pm, only eight minutes after the activity was first detected by VirtuGuard™. Officers made contact with the individual and detained them before searching the vehicle they arrived in.
