BOS Security Chief Technology Officer Awarded SIA Denis R. Hébert Identity Management Scholarship

BOS Security Chief Technology Officer Kevin Vettorel was recently announced as a 2026 winner of the Security Industry Association’s Denis R. Hébert Identity Management Scholarship.

Every year, the Denis R. Hébert Identity Management Scholarship program awards two $5,000 scholarships to professionals who are current employees of SIA member companies to help further their education in identity management.

Kevin Vettorel is Chief Technology Officer at BOS Security. Kevin first joined BOS Security as a Senior Information Technology Consultant in 2022 and was promoted to Director of Security Technologies & Analytics in 2023 and Vice President of Information Technology in 2024. During his time with BOS Security – VirtuGuard™, Kevin has led enterprise technology strategy, built and scaled an artificial intelligence-enabled command center, and achieved UL certification.

Kevin has built an extensive career around mission critical operations, enterprise IT, and applied artificial intelligence. His 20 years of service in the United States Air Force shaped his leadership style and technical discipline as he directed large-scale IT operations, management multimillion dollar programs, and led cross-functional teams supporting secure and highly regulated environments.

Kevin Vettorel currently holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and recently earned a master’s degree in applied artificial intelligence. His work consistently centers on turning advanced technology into practical, scalable solutions that improve performance, reduce risk, and provide clients with white glove service.

When interviewed about his scholarship award, Kevin said “I plan on using this generous gift to complete my master’s-level certification in advanced data analytics and start my Ph.D. I believe this will allow me to use data to further enhance the efficiency and protection of our VirtuGuard client base. As a 20-year Air Force veteran, I believe education is one of the most important things a person can do to better themselves,” said Vettorel. “I have four children who are also college graduates or currently working toward their degrees, and I am thankful to SIA for helping me reach another important milestone and furthering my education.”

Kevin’s commitment to continuing his education and leveraging this knowledge to keep VirtuGuard™ ahead of the always-evolving technology curve is an invaluable asset to the team. His dedication to consistent improvement and leading with confidence and grace not only makes him a joy to work with, but a great source of support and mentorship.

Congratulations, Kevin! We’re excited to see what you’ll continue to accomplish.
