Calipsa is a cloud-based AI analytics technology for real-time and forensic analysis. Because most surveillance cameras are limited in their ability to prevent or detect illegal or wanted behavior on a private property, Calipsa enhances security operations by enabling VirtuGuard™ to react quickly and effectively to real-time events. 

These features of Calipsa aide VirtuGuard™ in detecting and reacting to security incidents in real-time: 

• Object Detection: Reduces false alarms by filtering out movements not caused by a human or vehicle, like nuisance alarms caused by wildlife, trees, or other irrelevant objects. 

• Camera Masking: Filters out areas of disinterest, like roads or public areas. Activity detected by AI in these areas will be ignored, reducing false alarms that are sent into the VirtuGuard™ Command Center. 

• Site Scheduling: VirtuGuard™ can set custom schedules for different sites based on operational hours, high-traffic times, and more, reducing nuisance alarms and operational costs. 

• Camera Health Checks: Ensures that cameras and other infrastructure are working 24/7 by detecting whether a camera has failed to alarm, has been tampered with, or if the field of view has changed. 

• Loitering Detection: If a person or vehicle is detected in a specific area for longer than a specified amount of time, the Command Center will receive an alert to the activity. 

• Crowd Detection: Alerts are triggered when a specified number of people or vehicles are detected in a camera view for longer than a specified amount of time.  

• Region of Interest: Specific areas of a camera view can be flagged and when objects enter a region of interest, an alert will be sent into the VirtuGuard™ Command Center to be reviewed. 

• Custom Watchlists: VirtuGuard™ can create custom inclusion, and exclusion lists by uploading images of objects (people and vehicles) to watch or ignore. Calipsa then analyzes the appearance of objects that enter a camera view and will either alert to objects not wanted on the property or filter alarms of objects that are welcome. 

• Forensic Investigations: With Calipsa, VirtuGuard™ can search across cameras to investigate specific areas and time frames to gather more information if an incident occurs.

Avigilon 

VirtuGuard™ utilizes and integrates with different products and technologies, like Avigilon, to support Command Center Operations. Avigilon specializes in surveillance cameras, video analytics, video management, and access control products. 

Video Security 

Avigilon offers several models of IP (internet protocol) cameras that are designed to help security professionals like VirtuGuard™ detect and respond to issues faster. 

• Dome Cameras: Record a wider view angle of an area and are suited for both indoor and outdoor conditions. 

• Bullet & Box Cameras: Typically have larger lenses, are weatherproof, and provide a higher level of detail over a greater distance, making them a good option for outdoor monitoring.

SightSensor HD Series 

The SightSensor HD Series are Thermal Visible Smart Cameras, which are equipped with the following capabilities: 

• Thermal Sensor: Detects infrared energy, or heat, to send alerts to human or animal activity.
